I Am Coming Soon!

May 23, 2020 | Darril Holden Jr.

    I AM COMING BACK SOON

    REVELATION 22

This life is short.  The next life is long.

Look, I am coming soon!  Look, I am coming soon!  My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. Yes, I am coming soon.

    Revelation 22:7,12,20

For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.

    1 Thessalonians 4:14

For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.  After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.

    1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

    2 Peter 3:9

Perspective: This life is short. The next life is long.

    Longing

    Look, I am coming soon!

The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come!”  And let the one who hears say, “Come!”

    Yes, I am coming soon.

    Amen.  Come, Lord Jesus.

    Revelation 22:12,17,20

    QUESTIONS FOR DISCUSSION/REFLECTION:

    • What are you looking forward to this summer?
    • What do you think about Jesus promising to come “soon,” but it has been over 2,000 years since He promised?
    • In Revelation 22:12, Jesus said, “I am coming soon and my reward is with me.”  What do you think He is talking about?
    • Are there areas of your life where you are doing pretty well at living with an eternal perspective?  Are there areas of your life that might need some adjustment?

The words of the Lord are flawless, like silver purified in a crucible, like gold refined seven times.

    Psalm 12:6
