For the past month, the search team has been meeting with several candidates and are in the process of narrowing the candidate pool. We remain optimistic that we will be able to extend a call to the next pastor soon.
Please continue to pray for the search committee, for wisdom in this process, for discernment, and for unity. Please pray for the candidates and their families as they consider the role at our church. Also pray that we as a church body will be prepared to receive the final candidate and welcome him into our church family.
Please consider fasting. It’s infrequent that we’d ask this of the congregation, but please consider joining us in this practice. The book of Acts records believers fasting before they made important decisions (Acts 13:2; 14:23). Fasting is a way to demonstrate to God, and to ourselves, that we are serious about our relationship with Him. Fasting can help us gain a new perspective as we focus and rely upon God. Practically speaking, fasting could mean fasting for a day from food and being in prayer throughout your day; it could mean fasting from one meal while praying; or it could mean fasting from a specific thing (ie desserts, TV, social media) to gain a better perspective and be mindful of the Lord.
We are excited about the candidates who God has brought to us through this process. We continue to seek God’s guidance and wisdom as we make these important decisions in the coming weeks. Thank you for your prayers, support, and joining with us in this process!
The search for CCC’s next lead pastor is nearing the end. Our search firm, NL Moore, has made contact with more than 400 men as part of the process. God has blessed us with a number of well-qualified candidates, and the search committee has done an outstanding job of putting a process in place to conduct the search. We believe we’re getting close to completing the search process and narrowing down the finalists. The congregation will have a chance to meet the final candidate during a candidating weekend as part of the process. We are optimistic that we will be able to extend a call to our next lead pastor, possibly as soon as late January. We ask for your continued prayers for the search, the next lead pastor, and for the discernment of the search committee.
We are happy to announce that the Search Team has received a pool of candidates and will soon begin interviewing. We are excited to take these next steps and invite you to pray for God’s wisdom to guide us as we move forward. Please be in prayer for our team, for our good candidates, and for our mutual discernment as we get to know one another better.
Three main points to update:
1. The search team is confident and excited about our partnership with search firm NL Moore and Associates. They have made over 400 contacts nationally on behalf of Christ Community Church and have a very good understanding of what our team is looking for in a candidate. They have come along side us to help develop the interview process and we are ready for video and on campus interviews. We have 3 candidates in the 'pipeline' and are seeking 5-6 total candidates to begin interviews. In a few weeks (i.e. mid-Nov) the search team will be presented with the candidates and will start the review and initial interview process.
2. The search team is working very well together and is a unique and diverse group who are excited about representing the needs and desires of the CCC congregation. We encourage everyone to join the search team in continuing to pray for the next lead pastor for CCC. In particular, we have been praying that the right candidates would respond to the Holy Spirit prompting them to take the time to thoughtfully consider and apply for this opportunity. We know life is busy and sometimes it can be tough to stop and listen and take action to respond to God's voice.
3. God is moving in our community in exciting ways and our search for a lead pastor is part of a new work that God is doing within CCC and beyond our walls. We are thankful for the chance to pray and participate with God as He leads us forward.

First, we want to remind you about the search team for this process. This group was named in May and has been diligently working on the search and interview process. Second, we’re asking all of our church family to continue to pray for this search. With the help of NL Moore we’ve developed a list of five areas to pray for which include praying for our staff, our congregation, our elder board, our next pastor and the search consultant.
